Welcome Liz Cowie to the board!

Liz Cowie is a dedicated community volunteer and advocate for educational opportunity. Her professional career included roles as an environmental attorney and later as a fundraiser supporting education research at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Education. It was during her time at Stanford that she first became involved with East Palo Alto Academy and the East Palo Alto Academy Foundation, beginning a longstanding commitment to supporting local students and families.

Liz is an active member of the Palo Alto/University Rotary Club, where she co-leads the Youth Services Program. In this role, she collaborates with schools and youth-serving organizations to create meaningful, hands-on experiences that equip young people with the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to lead, serve, and thrive.

Passionate about expanding educational access and helping young people reach their full potential, Liz brings a wealth of professional expertise and community engagement to her volunteer work.

Liz holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Duke University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania.
